ASME certification body background introduction

　　ASME is the American Society of Mechanical Engineers ( ASME ) abbreviation. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers was established in 1880 and has branches all over the world. It is an international academic organization with great authority and influence. ASME is mainly engaged in the development of science and technology in mechanical engineering and related fields, encouraging basic research, promoting academic exchanges, developing cooperation with other engineering and associations, carrying out standardization activities, and formulating mechanical codes and standards. It has 125,000 members, manages the world's largest technical publishing agency, presides over 30 technical conferences each year , 200 professional development courses, and sets many industrial and manufacturing standards.

Since its establishment, ASME has led the development of mechanical standards. From the initial thread standard to the present, more than 600 standards have been developed . The Boiler Machinery Directive Committee was established in 1911 , and the Machinery Directive was promulgated from 1914 to 1915 , which was later integrated with the laws of various states and Canada. ASME has become a worldwide engineering institution mainly in the fields of technology, education and investigation. In addition, ASME is one of the five sponsors of ANSI . ANSI 's mechanical standards are mainly proposed with its assistance and participate in ISO activities on behalf of the technical advisory group of the American National Standards Committee .

Classification and applicable scope of ASME certification items

ASME certification projects include the following four categories:

Boiler and pressure vessel ( BPV )

Nuclear power plant ( N-Type )

Nuclear material ( QSC )

Resin and plastic container ( RTP )

In response to these certification items, ASME has awarded 25 steel seals and corresponding certification certificates to manufacturers around the world . Among them, those beginning with the letter U belong to the category of pressure vessels, those beginning with the letter H belong to the category of boiler products, and those beginning with the letter N belong to the category of nuclear power plants. At present, China has 127 companies that have passed ASME certification , most of which have obtained U and S stamps.
